Human Ethology

Personalised Human Ethology

The subject area Human Ethology could be widened by the additional term ‘collective’ and thereafter be divided into sub sections like ‘medical’, ‘anthropological’, ‘biological’ etc. There was up to now no need for such additional term, because a complementary opposite for ‘collective’ didn’t exist. ‘Collective’ human ethology relates to the wholeness of similar or equal expressions, habits and customs as well as metabolic processes and evolutionary developments which are identified by researchers with a number of people or animals tested under similar circumstances. This is changing with the introduction of ‘Personalised Human Ethology’. Personalised human ethology is centred on the wholeness of one individual.

This whole individual is the sum of differing degrees of recognized expressions, habits and customs, as well as physical processes which are identified in the first instance through collective human ethological research. Therefore the classification between ‘collective’ and ‘Personalised’ is essential to know what or who is meant.

To make it clear collective human ethology involves field studies, laboratory research, and statistics and is undertaken with single or multiple numbers of people from different cultures and social backgrounds. The aim of the specific research is of importance, not the individual, since it is the goal of explorers to find a common collective pattern of people’s innate behaviour or medical condition on the basis of instinct, body expressions and physical conditions of a long prehistoric evolution, for instance. It is not the aim of research to concentrate on this test person as such.

Human Ethology emerged from Ethology, the study of animal behaviour, and is part of the huge subject of biology. It is mainly originated in the Germanic culture founded by Prof. K. Lorenz. In this script we engage human ethology and neighbouring sciences to view the subconscious, the massive layer beneath the consciousness. Through our habits influenced by education and media we see events and their meaning according to our egocentrically blinkered eyes relating our judgments to a past world. The aggressive techno-industrial development and the social valve of fanatical explosions of ideologies and religions, however, make it a matter of urgency to over think our concept of human responsibilities and to become aware of our inner self.

First we look back to our recent European cultural history.

Triggered by the post-renaissance period of Enlightenment our human sciences and medicine dealt foremost with pioneering subjects and detailed views of natural sciences, which are by principle questioned any previous and contemporary views if not to be proved by repetitive tests. This Cartesian or Dualistic principle lead to unknown technically-scientifically based dynamic approaches to rationalize human efforts, to increase efficiency and enabled human kind first time to take over the sovereign leadership on our planet Earth including plant and all other living creatures.

In this respect it is no coincidence that the Italian mathematician Luca Pacioli introduced more then 100 years earlier, in the year 1494, the double (dualistic) accountancy, which up to today is the efficient basis for all businesses and finance control systems.

Rene Descartes (1596-1650) was not alone and joined by philosophers and scientists like Spinoza, Hume and Leibniz, Newton, Hegel and many more ascertaining the principle of a double control, the verification of a theory through repetition. In years to come when Europe is not anymore an actor on the world stage, it may be famed for this introduction mainly.
This principle of ‘double’ control was an unstoppable development of European culture and contains more genius than one might imagine and is cultural-morally reflected in Dr. Faustus (about 1480 – 1540) of the famous German legend, a preferred subject for playwrights and moralists like Goethe and Marlowe.

The uncertainty about the dimensions of natural powers lost some aspects of its fearsome threat and it appeared possible to get to grips with it. The next natural thought was to establish the superior reign of Homo sapiens’ culture over the whole Earth. It is regarded only as a question of time before also these natural powers are ‘domesticated’ and controlled by human rational intelligence. This view is in today’s world the moral basis for decisions and aim of social-cultural developments. In the same instance is the breathtaking and adventurous conquest of the Universe announced as convincing symbol of human superiority over the powers of the nature.

This may explain why respect and modesty to powerful natural forces and the universal indefiniteness were changed by brash confidence and became superficial to the deeper questions of life structures. At least it took and takes the rules of popular election promises and technocratically formulated mechanisms as benchmark. On the other hand the European history is deeply affected through dualistic principles of Judaism and the emerging religions of Christianity and Islam expressing ‘good’ and ‘evil’ as prior dogma and the uniqueness of mankind as image of God. This favourite position doesn’t relate to plant and animals. They are soulless or conscious less.

Out of this background are originated most devastating social developments of the whole human history, otherwise hardly explainable most disastrous practices. In the same instance as technological-industrial progress took place of up to then unknown dimensions and seized possession of the whole world with feverish madness, cruelties of unheard dimensions are reaching highest levels.

But it is nothing else then very much a consequential follow-up of the monotheistic religions parallel to Descartes philosophies. Scruples are easily wiped away following the rules of tempting dualistic fundamentals and the newly defined efficiency is to control everything and anything down to the utmost detail. Human standards are result of dualism of body and soul in medicine, of the debit and credit side in business, of good and evil in religions usefulness or uselessness in a utilitarian society. This is followed by racism, colonialism, inquisitions and subjugation and treatment of other humans, animals and plant as soulless objects with callous cruelty.

We have to clarify remorseful repercussions of dualistic scientific application and dualistic ideological/religious thinking involves people which are having executed these principles in the first place. It is remarkable, that more peaceful religions like Hinduism/Buddhism see animals equipped with souls, the same applies to natural or pagan religions which view the enlivened nature as holy and deeply respect plant and animals.

It appears to the observer from the outside that religion/ideologies and science/economy should suit each other because both have a dualistic black/white or good/evil view, but this is not true. They are not only poisoning each other whenever they can, they are damaging everything and anything around them in their struggle. There was less destruction so long as there was only one of them active, or culturally accepted. Symbolically it changed with Rene Descartes famous words: “Cogito, ergo sum- I think hence I am.”

It is helpful to read thoughts of S.C. Malik, a modern Indian anthropologist and philosopher, equally aware about western and eastern philosophy.

This European/Near East variant to divide the world in black and white, in Heaven and Hell, in body and soul is obviously not an invention of contemporary philosophers or the mentioned religions. Since and before Plato and Aristotle followed by the Stoics there was a tendency to see the world dualistic. Later this became probably influential to Descartes (as well as Pacioli and many others earlier and later) in so far as he and others secured the success of this thinking through meticulous scientific precision of verification of a specific view through repeatability and predictable the outcome. Any other view of individuals or groups which could not find confirmation through this method is refused fiercely and intolerant by protagonists of science – basics of history are not changing!

Dualistic science and trade is far too successful to be replaced by anything else. It is today unthinkable to do without it and any alternative would always lead back to this genial invention. However, it appears suicidal for the continuation of human life. In order to survive Homo sapiens cannot do anything else than to part from ‘dualistic’ termed ideologies (like socialism, nationalism and others of this kind) or religions with monotheistic character. This is because ideologies and religions approach the ‘emotional centre’, the subconsciousness, of individuals and masses of people. The subconscious is well able to cooperate with dualistic-rational intelligence and with Machiavellian aims, but it has catastrophic results when it is ‘emotionally’ abused as it is handling the dualistic tools of good and evil deviously and brutal.

This is because the subconscious is not equipped for reasons of its own character, to protect itself against ideological/religious influences applied by determined dualistic intelligence. It is naïve and shrewd at the same time, once infiltrated by ideological or religious dualism it uses ultra modern weaponry to become a murderous and devious monster to its assumed enemies, the likes humans had to suffer from during the last hundred years immensely and still today there is the fierce war of two hatred religiously (and commercially) motivated warriors – the American conservative Christianity and the Islam. The religious civil war in Ireland is just finished. Fascism with Hitler, Communism with Stalin, Nationalism with Japan and aggressive Theocratic states (like Israel and Iran) – it is with no end.

Siblings Science and Religion are not acceptable jointly if they carry the same surname: Dualism.

Wishful thinking of Descartes’ disciples, the countless number of philosophers, statesmen and technocrats, motivated by the idea to conquer World and Universe to their terms.

The true size of Freud’s ‘iceberg’ is in more than one aspect under water, meaning, the ‘conscious’ is like the smaller sticking out peak of an iceberg. Visible is only a small part on the surface to be understood as ‘consciousness’, hiding the huge block of ‘unconsciousness’ underneath. However, the ‘enlightened’ scientist and dualist Freud, in so far still a child of his time, wanted to heal the patient from the ‘perverted’ unconscious. This view is not maintainable, but it is his lasting merit having made us aware about the existence of the ‘unconsciousness’.

Reputable scientists, leaders of religions and society previously and today are still supporting this view of Freud. A view the Ethologist Frans de Waal critically calls ironically the ‘Veneer Layer Theory’, and describing herewith the comparison with a veneered piece of furniture. There is the fine moral top layer as noble human characteristic and the chipboard underneath as rough underground of the amoral animal.

This view is shared by the overwhelming majority of western educated people as well as the intellectual and scientific leadership independently of religious or atheistic background.

It is not an empty phrase and only to excuse that the inner self is for everybody a hardly imaginable territory like the inside of a piece of furniture. Therefore it is no surprise that schisms and ideologies are using this fact for their very own purpose. The leadership of those movements may even not know themselves, what they are doing and believe in it. But it is a fact that they are using most modern brainwashing methods and public relations actions very efficient, using dualistic intelligence in order to make people’s ‘emotional centre’ bend to their cause.

We, as rational intelligent subjects, have hardly crossed the borderline between superficial social-surface structured awareness, which really is our existence on Earth and the unknown underground, the realm of the monstrous grizzly bear of psychological research.

C.G. Jung indicated this through psychiatric research and explored in tribal cultures the archaic collective unconsciousness and informed us about this huge evolutionary layer of our own past reaching back to the early cultures of mankind.
The decisive brick stones of our existence, however, we meet in deeper layers of our evolutionary development and this is the realm of biological cell life.

Biological-evolutionary preconditions of life’s survival, the environmental circumstances of our ancestors’ eukaryotic single cell life equipped with their very own rudimentary organisms, have been traced back only during recent decades and this is still a source of tremendous scientific expansion. This rich information is helpful for our Personalised Human Ethology project pointing to the historic, the physical and physiological development and the growing awareness of this whole subject.

It appears that research of the DNA or RNA sequences containing the genetic code, is looking very promising, and involves risks. On the positive side it may enable us to establish occurrences of this nature and to understand future probable developments.

Just in these months of the early year of 2008, we are witnessing the breakthrough to decipher the complete genetic code of some simple life forms and to do the same for human kind will be not far off. The human individual disposes of more than 3.3 billion DNA letters in his genome and the detailed deciphering of functions and attributes is a mammoth undertaking.
However, with this knowledge we would be able to understand the complete genetic program that is translated into proteins (amino acid sequences) by living cells and how our life is being managed.

Some genetically managed DNA letters may trigger diseases like cancer and hereditary defects and this attracts special attention of researchers. The risky part of interfering is that these genetic elements may have to fulfil other functions as well and if they are manipulated or destroyed, then there may be not replacements or certain functions are not satisfactory solved and this creates other problems.

With this we refer to research of stem cells which are incorporated in the physical cell structure as ‘conducting’ parts of genetic messages. In the media there is an outcry of hope to eradicate all the human plagues for good, mixed with the fear to destroy our own human fundament. We cannot avoid researching this subject; laws to stop it are ridiculous, but there may also appear a ray of wisdom and enter the human mind in the meantime.

We could ask ourselves, “Why diseases are triggered by genetic information and enlivened by stem cells? Are we doing something wrong? Why it is happening now and only rarely previously? Which other functions are they fulfilling? Why other or the same DNA letters and the supposedly defending cells are are ‘confused’ and accept intruding ‘messages’, which in previous times were shown the door by our cell-inhabitants?”

Unfortunately this ray of wisdom is still hidden behind clouds and triumphing scientists and futurists are already painting visionary views of eradicating those diseases and defects and promising a healthy and ever lasting life.
Now, after all, we should know that this will surely not be the case; the problems become more complicated in future, that is all.

Marshall Nirenberg and Heinrich Matthaei

The Poly-U experiment required a cell-free system, created when cell walls are ruptured and release their contents. The material inside cells is called cytoplasm, or sap, which still can synthesize protein but only when the correct kind of RNA is added, allowing to control the experiment. Nirenberg and Matthaei chose E.Coli bacteria cells, and ground them up using a mortar and pestle to release the cytoplasm, or sap, they would use in their experiments. The experiment used 20 test tubes, each filled with a different amino acid. For each individual experiment, 19 test tube were ‘cold’ and one was radioactively tagged. The ‘hot’ amino acid would change every time they did the experiment. On Saturday, 27th of May 1961, at three o’clock in the morning, Matthaei combined the synthetic RNA made only of uracil (called poly-U) with cell sap derived from E.coli bacteria and added it to each of the test tubes. After an hour, the control tubes showed a background level of 70 counts, whereas the hot tube showed 38.000 counts per milligram of protein. The experiment showed that a chain of repeating bases uracil forced a protein chain made of one repeating amino acid, phenyalanine. The code could be broken!

There are surely no ‘devious’ elements in the genetic code, that have nothing else to do than to spread diseases. Natural evolutionary selection would have sorted out such genes long before life reached this stage. Should we not work to stabilize this tendency in our favour instead of manipulating nature brutally with our up-to-date limited understanding?

Here, we touch again the very principle of how we are confronting life. By eradicating or manipulating parts of the whole, we invite new parts to join and occupy vacant positions – and these are, for instance, via mutation are increasingly more vicious diseases as we have seen historically.

It applies not only to biological cell life, but is the principle not the same?

Plagues and tuberculosis now are nearly extinct; all forms of cancer, HIV, diabetes, circulatory and cardiac problems, dermatitis and asthma are increasing steeply. Mental and dementia problems are increasing with a rate of 20% per annum! What is wrong with lifestyle or medical treatment? Is it the quality of food and the lack of physical exercise?

One fact is sure: the official medical training and later practice are still originated in the early philosophy of ‘Enlightenment’ and still cut, transplant and destroy mechanically, stuff multi trillions of pills down the throat blindly purely on suspicion, protect against any regain of strength, damaging very obvious health by malnutrition. It reads like a badly composed maintenance manual for a machine.

Without looking at consequences and adapting to the reasons of problem, the view is to bend the illness, force it to adapting to the medical specialist. Unfortunately, it will not follow this order! (“Illness” is the visible manifestation of the motivation to continue life.)
The healthy person can only become ill and will be made dependent for the whole life of a treatment philosophy, which looks impressive but is comparable with the operation of a modern garage. It looks smart, but it is a clumsy and dangerous mentality, because life is not a mechanistically functioning car.

Take a deep breath: We should have a high admiration for the job to coordinate and manage 100 trillion individual cells (in numbers 100.000.000.000.000) of which the human body is made up. It is a giant task to organize this unimaginable lot and appears not possible to grasp these dimensions with our mind and still, we should ourselves familiarize with the principle behind.

It is a subject on its own to search about the structure and organisation of such a giant micro cosmos, which is concentrated in one single person only. It may give us some ideas how to cope with our problem to create a viable organisation for our Earth population. About this coordinated effort we should learn more, independently of ‘Enlightenment-mentality’ and social ideologies. It is a subject by itself to explore the structural organisation of such a giant micro-cosmos, which is condensed in one single person. It thwarts all earthly management and governmental tasks.
More so, it is a miracle that such a big mass of tiny and relatively short lived generations of individuals can be coordinated for the 70 or 100 years human lifetime.

In this connection it may be worth to mention if size, volume and age are the criteria of a successful evolutionary development champion is the giant tree Sequoiadenron. These trees are growing up to 300 feet in their habitat in the humid valleys of California’s coastline with a diameter of up to 60- 90 feet and reaching an age of 3000 years and more. The number of Cells will increase by some noughts. This large and old tree is therefore probably the most successful evolutionary developed living species ever.

A speculative look before and after death: 100 trillion individuals’ short lived cells are creating in uncountable generations for many years one close unit. Disturbances are coming with viral or bacterial intrusions, physical and psychic deformations and inherited defects, environmental influences and insufficient energy intake expressed by hunger and thirst. Physical needs like protection against climatic extremes, reproductivity instincts and metabolic measures of cleaning and food intake find cognitive or instinctive priorities initiated by cell sensors. This all has to be coordinated and to be managed. Most illnesses or other intruding impediments are being looked after and eliminated by this central organisation without our conscious knowledge.

However, there are periodic cycles in life at the latest when the ageing process takes place, that the ‘top management’ doesn’t keep the whole body unit in full control or in case of genetically inherited problems is not willing and able to change things, cannot find sufficient energy intake or is exposed to environmental circumstances beyond its ability to adapt.
Generations of cells experience an ageing process with themselves, not only single cells, but also the ‘skeleton’ of stem cells. We call it Hayflick limit when after about 52 divisions in human life cells are not renewing themselves anymore. Ageing of life is a coded process of a disintegrating structure expressed by time in which the motivation slows down to renew the whole structure.

This can be compared with a ‘central government’, which is losing control and authority, the metabolic cleansing is reduced and single cell units are creating their separate style and are less determined to get rid of unwanted intruders. Internal information and maintenance are slowing down and the cell system looses its previous unity up to the time that the ‘central’ government is not anymore able to coordinate efficiently. All this doesn’t happen gradually; it is dependent upon the motivating ‘of periodic cycles of events following personal dispositions. This subject we discuss in the next chapter.
That is soon the end of our as ‘being individual’ sensed life.

It is worth to underline it: the centralised ’I’ or ‘Ego’ has never been there; it is a tale.

What we understand as central ‘I’ is in reality an individually permanently changing different massing of elemental and temperamental influences, which are gaining under different physical, gravitational and biochemical conditions on Earth their morphological shape and expression. As we know, it seems to us sometimes we are in the evening not the same person we were in the morning, we feel not to be the same person we were twenty years ago.

Once the essential and central life function is terminated, this big life-unit will not suddenly finish living. It looks like, when this unit deceases, that parts of the ’organisation’ stay intact, at least for a while. In a changed state, obviously, it may even spiritually exist for long time.

Sure is at least it continues for a shorter or longer while also in an unconscious coma-like state with probably an imprisoned spirit. To make the comparison with a big culture like the Roman Empire: the last emperor Romulus Agustulus resigned in the year 476AD and the West Roman empire was before already and later again overrun by German tribes. Life and structure lasted for some hundreds of years longer. One could say, till today remnants are still alive – the spirit of the Roman Empire, the roman tradition and legacy - but no Roman emperor is there since 1500 years.

This example may explain, why it is parapsychologically known, that contacts continue between deceased people and their kin. Many people have experienced contacts between themselves and closely related deceased ones. These were clear witnessed signs immediately after death, days or years later still. This includes also animals if there was a close relationship between the person and the deceased animal.

But these messages are transmitted on almost immaterial waves, not matter orientated, not physically visible, but may trigger physical changes or events. The character of such messages is of typical subconscious substance, but the transmitting media can be of modern electronic equipment as well. These contacts are becoming less after a few days but others are lasting for years, even throughout generations. We can only assume that the previous ‘united’ subconscious is disintegrating and loses mediating power, because of lack of intensity of the previous contact.

To sense this parapsychologically it needs an open mind and the insight to observe. It is very likely that the subconscious is a better receiver and transmitter of contacts than the socially hardened consciousness.
It seems, that not necessarily the trusting or hostile qualities of previous contacts are deciding about contacts but the intensity. As we are not trained to listen but ridiculed if anything, we are deaf and blind and we don’t become aware about the daily bombardments of contacts and messages and call it coincidence, incidence, accidence, good luck or bad luck, fate or inspiration.

The Jungian ‘synchronicity’ of coincidental meetings, seemingly timed telephone calls or confrontations is one aspect of this.
The roots of our mental and physical existence, the summing up of our vitality and motivation which desire to live and exist, and possibly are driven by countless numbers of single cells and not by a central ‘me’, are lying behind a curtain and are part of our subconsciousness. This subconscious knowledge is present, but as we don’t grasp it ‘consciously’ we refer to supernatural powers, to one God or a multiple of Gods and to scientific dogmas.

We have not only no conscious access to this existing knowledge, but are left helpless outside and have to wait anxiously hoping that we are still alright tomorrow and the day after and not caught by nasty surprises regarding our wellbeing.
This subconscious knowledge is centred in our character. In order to clarify, character is not any ego-resemblance, it is not a substitute ego, but it is manifesting itself through ethos. Ethos is not Personalised and represents soul and spirit of living organisms.

The introduction of the Conception Chart and the Personalised Human Ethogram enables us to draw a surprising picture of the hidden background of an individual. We can see the reason for mental perceptions or vulnerable organic conditions and we are able to adapt to those conditions at an early stage.

Suddenly we have not only 20% of our personality in full view, which is insufficient to direct our lives; with Personalised Human Ethology we are able to view probably 80% of ourselves and this is a good basis for facing our direction in life.
These percentage figures are not measured values. Obviously, they picture the average scale of things and have to be seen in this respect.

Personalised Human Ethology applies the knowledge of ethologists, psychologists, ancient and contemporary philosophers, astronomers, astrologers, cell biologists, palaeontologists, anthropologists, and medical sciences and homeopathy.
It is like drawing a whole ‘ethological’ picture of a person. The static part of the picture, what we call Conception Chart is the precise time of fertilization and the origin of multiplying cell life. It works with astrological principles, but with changed terminology and priorities, adapted to the developing subconscious.

The second part is the Personalised Human Ethogram. It is the basis for a dynamic approach; a permanently evolving Ethogram of the progressing personality.

On its long 3.8 billion years path to this century, the miraculous life has gained experiences, suffered desperately, mutated ever so often when driven near to extinction, learnt to use escape routes and often enough was given a helping hand by the mysterious fate to survive, and ultimately reaped the harvest for standing up to the principles of ‘ethos’ – the ancient Greek word for the expression of ‘character’. Look into the mirror and beyond your photo-face, visualizing your inner face: it is so keen and naïve but so old; in measured time similar to the age of planets revolving around the Sun!

Surprised? You feel respect for the mystery of life, for the age of life of which you are a part of. But this mirror will also indicate where and why parts of the blindfolded human mind or physical restrictions recommend a caring and respectful answer; there are tremendous scars after such a long life as well.

Institutions, the requirements of a social community, the government and ideological leaders of all kind support rules of a social code which are strangling and suffocating our inner ‘Ethos’ up to the point of mental or physical collapse, from psychopathy to cancer, from dementia to infarct. It has a reason why the largest industry in the world, the social-medical industry is flourishing and growing sumptuously faster every day – so very ill are the people in this time and age!

The contents of both pictures date 3-4 billion years back. The early struggle of survival of an attacked cell by a virus is so important just like human survival for us and catching the flu is a mild reminder – for the surviving cells. Looking into the mirror and realizing the age of our ‘inner face’ – our consciousness – it has a similar age as do the planets in our Universe. We are not young by all means.
